God of War Ragnarok Performance Review (PS5, PS4 Pro, PS4) Kinda warning that there is quite some gameplay shown in this video (!) Short TLDR: game basically delivers nearly flawless on all systems where the 120fps mode delivers well for those people that can utilize it together with fastest response times and the performance mode sometimes That actually seems to be the dividing line: series with an ongoing narrative (GoW, Horizon) are typically cross-gen; stand-alone games (Demon’s Souls, Returnal) or entries in a series without a strong through-line (R&C:RA, GT7) are not. So, if they had worked on a new IP, I expect it would have been PS5-only. The 30 fps is locked at 4K and 40fps between 1800p and 4K I think. 60fps has lower of the above and hovers between 1440p and 4K I think. Unlocked performance mode same lower visual quality but resolution is locked at 1440p which allows the framerate to climb to 80 ish during combat. Su_Impact. Here is the context. Cory Barlog shed a little light on how a game can feel like that with only a few months to go, likening that final stretch to riding a horse. “When the horse decides it wants to run, and it just starts going, you feel like you have no control, and you're just holding on,” Barlog explained. God of War’s creative director Cory Barlog recently posted a short video on social media that both acknowledged the game's four-year anniversary, but also teased that our next look at Ragnarok I tried on a sony bravia 4k, but the problem remains. For me it only occurs on ps5 version of the game. The ps4 version of the game runs smooth, with no problem at all. As of now, i am almost sure that its a GPU problem that is struggling to run ps5 features of the games and starts to produce artifacts, like a pc GPU with a incorrect overclock As someone who likes 2018 and Ragnarok, they pretty much built on 2018 so if you didn't like 2018 enough to finish it, then I don't recommend buying it since you'll probably not finish this one either given that it's longer as well. So I played the game on both modes on PS4Pro, performance and quality, and honestly, the framerate was not all that much better on perfomance. I'd say something like stable 30fps on performance, and 20-30 on quality, depending on situation. The game does look gorgeous on Pro, especially on quality mode with HDR on, but if you are set on high uSstb.
